About Dr. Matthew Torres

Born and raised in a small mountain town, Dr. Matthew Torres is very excited to return to the mountains and have a place to call home. Dr. Torres graduated from UNLV School of Dental Medicine, where he was an accomplished clinician and further completed a one-year residency in general dentistry at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Norfolk Virginia.

Dr. Torres has served five years of active duty service for the US Navy, including three years service overseas in Okinawa, Japan.

Dr. Torres has been married for 15 years and has three children. He loves spending time outdoors and enjoys landscape photography. Most of the photos located within our office are photos taken by Dr. Torres on some of his outdoor adventures.

Dr. Torres is the owner of Carson Valley Dental Arts and is ready to take your smile to new heights.

Jen Hickey, Office Manager

Jen Hickey has had the pleasure of working at Carson Valley Dental Arts since 2019. After spending the previous 15 years as a medical office manager, Jen has enjoyed expanding her knowledge of the dental world.

She enjoys working with our tremendous staff, knowing that as a team we will help you achieve a comfortable, confident and beautiful smile they can be proud of. Jen is here to help you with any questions they may have regarding their treatment plan, insurance or financial needs.

Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and connecting with extended family and friends. Jen also enjoys reading, coaching softball and loves watching all kinds of sporting events.

Jen is excited to meet you and assist you in reaching your dental goals.

Sue Emory, Dental Assistant

Sue Emory has been a dental assistant since 1971 and has worked in various offices within the Carson Valley area, before making Carson Valley Dental Arts her home away home for over 24 years now.

Sue is extremely organized, thorough and makes dental education a priority with all the patients at Carson Valley Dental Arts. If you have any dental questions, Sue is the person to ask, and can help you have a beautiful smile that you can be proud of.

When she is not at work, Sue enjoys hanging out at the pool as well catching up with her favorite TV show while she spends time with her husband. Sue decided to retire at the end of 2022, but we still plan on seeing Sue at events and filling in as needed.

Vanessa Clark, Dental Assistant

Vanessa Clark is a young and attentive new addition to Carson Valley Dental Arts. Growing up in Gardnerville, NV, Vanessa is very knowledgeable about the best local places to go.

In her free time, she loves to go on road trips, camping and hiking. She graduated from dental assisting school in Carson City and loves that she can continue to make Carson Valley her home. Vanessa has found her happy place working with Dr. Torres day in and day out helping patients achieve the smile they have always wanted.

Lily Valdez, Front Office Supervisor

Lily joins Carson Valley Dental Arts with over ten years of experience in the dental field. Originally from the bay area, she moved to Nevada in 2015 and has loved raising her three kids in the tight-knit community.

Lily is bilingual in Spanish and can help answer any questions that may arise, whether in the front or in the back office. Lily enjoys spending time with her family and is our in-house cooking expert. She enjoys working out, shopping and of course traveling.

Hayley Goldberg, Dental Assistant

When you call the office, Hayley is usually the one to answer your call and help you with your dental needs. She is warm and friendly and can help you schedule your dental appointment.

When Hayley is not at work she loves spending time with her son, Logan, who is her whole world. She loves to spend time outdoors-hiking and traveling. Her creative energy comes out in her art as she loves to do pottery and ceramics as well.

Hayley loves to bake and cook and try new things as well as visit new restaurants and cafes! Hit her up for local recommendations as she is a Carson Valle

Cathy Price, Hygienist

Cathy Price is our fast-talking, Disney-loving dental hygienist who is passionate about her job. Cathy will take the time to discuss with you your dental health and stresses the importance of good dental hygiene. She is invested in your overall dental health.

Originally from Daily City, CA, Cathy learned the value of hard work from her father who was a battalion chief of the San Francisco Fire Department.

Cathy has a B.S. in dental hygiene from U.C.S.F. and has been with Carson Valley Dental Arts since 2014. Cathy has been married to her husband, David, since 1992 and they have three beautiful children.

We hope that Cathy can help improve your overall dental health and knowledge soon.

Lindsey Torres, Media Manager

Alongside her husband, Dr. Matthew Torres, Lindsey is excited to make Gardnerville her home. Lindsey has an M.A. in professional communication, with an emphasis in advertising and public relations, from Southern Utah University.

Lindsey loves working with small businesses, attending marketing events and meeting new patients as they embark on their dental journey. Lindsey and her husband have been married for 15 years and have three children.

Lindsey and Matt love to travel and explore the outdoors together. She also loves to read, shop online and go to the gym. Lindsey would love to help you on your dental journey.

Nicole Lujan

I live here in Minden and have lived in the Carson valley since 2009. Prior to that I was born and raised in Orange County, CA. I started out in dental assisting for two years and made my way to hygiene school in Boise in 2020. In my free time, I enjoy camping, hiking, and just being outdoors with my boyfriend and my pup! I also like yoga, paddle boarding, and anything fitness-related.
